Alcove New Kolkata 189KWp On-Grid Rooftop Solar Power Plant
Location: Serampore, Hooghly
Capacity: 189KWp

Purpose: Reduction of Electricity Bill and Carbon Footprint
Alcove, a project by Alcove Realty, located in Serampore, Hoogly had installed 31.5 KWp solar rooftop power plants on six towers. The solar panels are grid-connected and equipped with an Optimizer to improve performance in the situation of a changing shadow. This is a high-tech product that is often seen in Western countries.

In the present time, the world is adapting renewable solar energy at a rapid rate. India is also emerging in this global arena as the second-largest country in terms of solar energy generation globally. In its efforts to move further towards sustainable energy, the Indian Government has set a target to achieve 175 GW of installed capacity of renewable solar power by the end of the year 2022.

7.5 HP Solar Water Pumping System With Dual Axis Tracker & Sprinkler

Purpose: Irrigation
SunShell powers integrated the 7.5 HP solar water pumping system in the Chitmahal area in the Coochbihar district. This system aims to lift water from the nearby river and distribute it to the 8 hectares of land through sprinklers. This project was a first of its kind and was closely monitored by the Chief Minister’s office. The whole structure used 24 numbers of 72 Cells 325Wp Poly-Crystalline Solar Panels with a dual-axis tracker, operated manually by a single person. The dual-axis tracker helps track the sun’s changing positions due to the earth’s rotation and revolution movements and, in turn, helps capture the maximum amount of sun’s energy to be used for the system. One axis is azimuth, which allows the solar panel to move left and right. The other axis is elevation and allows the panel to turn up and down.

6.6 KWp On-Grid Domestic Rooftop Solar PV Power Plant: First Domestic project under CESC

Purpose: Reducing Electricity Bill
Dr. Rajen Kumar Pandey, a renowned doctor and renewable energy enthusiast were the first to introduce a domestic net metering system for his residential solar rooftop power plant under CESC. Net metering is a billing mechanism that credits solar energy system owners for the electricity they add to the grid. If a home is net-metered, the electricity meter will run backward to provide a credit against what electricity is consumed at night or other periods when the home's electricity use exceeds the system's output.
